Recently, Eddie Murphy confirmed that he and Martin Lawrence have officially become in-laws, as Eddie’s son Eric and Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin have tied the knot.

Eddie made this confirmation just a short while ago.
During an interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Eddie Murphy revealed that the wedding took place two weeks ago. While celebrity kids often host grand events, throwing lavish parties and spending millions on weddings, Eddie proudly shared that, surprisingly, his son and Martin Lawrence’s daughter wanted to keep it simple.
They just wanted to be together on that special day — something Eddie hadn’t expected."
Eddie shared that he’s extremely happy that he and Martin have gone from being friends to becoming in-laws.
The two had previously worked together in classic comedy films like Life and Boomerang. Interestingly, neither Eddie nor Martin had any idea that their children were planning to get married. Eddie also expressed hope that the two might reunite for a project in the future.

He even cracked a joke, saying that Martin had called him and said he didn’t have enough money left to organize his daughter’s wedding — so this time, the entire responsibility of the wedding and the event was going to be Eddie’s!

Eric and Jasmin first met in 2021. Soon after, they began dating, and neither of them realized when their bond turned into love. Last November, Jasmin confirmed the news of their engagement, revealing that the couple planned to host a private ceremony, away from the spotlight and media attention.
